1. Who we are
Strux Competitions ("Strux", "we", "us", "our") runs numbered-ticket prize competitions at struxcompetitions.co.uk. Strux Competitions Ltd is registered in England & Wales under company number [insert company number], registered office at [insert registered address]. Our free postal entry address is given in section 4.
These terms apply to every competition listed on the site, alongside any competition-specific rules shown on that competition's entry page. Where the two conflict, the competition-specific rules take priority.
2. Eligibility
- You must be 18 or over to enter any competition.
- You must be a resident of the United Kingdom, unless a competition's own page says otherwise.
- Employees, contractors and agents of Strux Competitions Ltd, our prize suppliers, and their immediate families or household members, may not enter.
- Entries must be made by the person entering, for themselves — entering on behalf of someone else, or using another person's details, isn't allowed and may void the entry.
- One entrant account per person. We may ask for proof of age or identity before releasing a prize, and can withhold a prize until we're satisfied the entrant is eligible.
3. How to enter
Each competition has a fixed number of numbered tickets. You can enter by:
- buying one or more numbered tickets at the price shown on the competition page, up to that competition's per-person cap; or
- using the free postal entry route described in section 4, which carries exactly the same odds as a paid ticket.
Every valid entry — paid or free — is allocated a ticket number and entered into the same draw on the same terms. We don't operate a separate, lower-odds pool for free entries.
Payment is taken in full at the time of entry. Ticket numbers and a confirmation of entry are emailed to the address you provide — check your entry against the numbers listed on the competition's entry page.
4. Free postal entry route
You can enter any competition without payment by post. To do so, write on a plain piece of paper:
- your full name, date of birth, home address, email address and phone number;
- the exact name of the competition you're entering, as shown on the site.
Post it to: Strux Competitions Ltd, Free Entry Route, [insert postal address], United Kingdom, to arrive before the competition's stated closing date and time. Entries that arrive late, or are illegible, incomplete, or sent by any other method, won't be entered.
- One free entry per person, per competition, per envelope — multiple entries in a single envelope will only count once.
- We don't reimburse postage.
- Free entries are given a ticket number from the same pool as paid entries, once processed, and are eligible for the same prize with the same odds.
- Because of processing time, we recommend posting at least 5 working days before a competition closes.
5. Ticket limits
Every competition states a maximum number of tickets and a maximum number of tickets per person (shown on the competition's entry page — usually 20). We reserve the right to cancel entries made over the per-person cap, refunding any tickets taken beyond it.
6. Closing dates & the draw
Every competition has a fixed closing date and time, shown on its entry page. Closing dates do not move, regardless of how many tickets have sold. Once a competition closes, no further entries — paid or free — are accepted.
Draws are run live, unedited, on our stream on the dates and times advertised (typically Fridays and Sundays at 8pm UK time). We use a random number generator to select a winning ticket number from the full list of valid entries, published before the draw begins. The stream replay stays available afterwards so the result can be checked against the published entry list.
7. Winners
The entrant holding the winning ticket number is the winner. We contact winners using the details given at entry, normally within 48 hours of the draw. Winners' first name and general location (for example, "Danielle P. — Wigan") may be published on the site and on our social channels as proof of a fair draw — we won't publish your full name, address or contact details without your permission.
If we can't reach a winner within 30 days using the details provided, we reserve the right to treat the prize as unclaimed and, where permitted by the competition's own rules, select a replacement winner using the same random draw method from the remaining valid entries.
8. Prizes
- The prize is as described on the competition's entry page at the time you entered. Photos are for illustration — colour, exact spec or included accessories may vary slightly from images shown, and any such difference will be noted on the entry page where known.
- Prizes are not transferable and, unless the entry page says otherwise, no cash alternative is offered.
- Cash prizes are sent by bank transfer within 3 working days of the draw, to a UK bank account in the winner's name.
- Physical prizes are sent by insured courier, typically within one week of the draw, once delivery details are confirmed.
- Vehicle prizes are handed over in person, at a time and place agreed with the winner, and include any handover costs described on the competition's entry page.
- The winner is responsible for any tax that may be due on a prize, unless UK law says otherwise.
9. If a competition doesn't sell out
The draw goes ahead as advertised whether or not every ticket sells. We don't extend a closing date to sell more tickets, and we don't roll an undersold prize into a future competition.
10. Refunds & mistaken entries
Because tickets are numbered and allocated instantly, entries are final once submitted and non-refundable, except where:
- we cancel or void the competition under section 11;
- a duplicate or technical payment error is confirmed on our side; or
- you contact us within 24 hours of entering and the competition has not yet closed, in which case we'll refund at our discretion.
To ask about a refund, contact us using the details in section 18.
11. Our right to cancel or postpone
We may cancel, suspend, postpone or void a competition — or an individual entry — where reasonably necessary, including if:
- we reasonably suspect fraud, abuse of the free entry route, or a breach of these terms;
- a technical, printing or system fault materially affects the fairness of the competition;
- the prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside our control; or
- we're required to by law or a relevant regulator.
Where we cancel a competition outright, entrants are refunded in full. We'll always tell entrants what's happened via the site and, where practical, by email.
12. Fair use & fraud
Entries made using bots, scripts, stolen payment details, or any method intended to gain an unfair number of entries will be voided without refund, and may be reported to the relevant authorities. We may bar an entrant from future competitions where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached.
13. Your data
Entering a competition means processing your personal data — to run the draw, verify eligibility, and deliver a prize if you win. Full details of what we collect, why, and your rights over it are set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
14. Complaints
If something about a draw or a prize doesn't seem right, contact us first using the details in section 18 — most things can be resolved directly, usually by comparing the published entry list against the stream replay. If we can't resolve it between us, [insert independent complaints body / ADR provider, if you use one].
15. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited or excluded under UK law. Beyond that, our liability to you in connection with a competition is limited to the value of the entry or prize in question.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time — for example, to reflect a change in the law or how a competition runs. Changes won't apply retroactively to a competition you've already entered; the terms shown on the entry page at the time you entered are the ones that apply to that entry. The "last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
